Great Plains Food Bank hires Johnson, Flory

FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank officially announced the additions of two new employees recently with the hiring of Anna Johnson as regional service manager servicing the eastern half of North Dakota and Andrew Flory as food resource manager.

A registered dietitian, Johnson officially started her tenure with the Great Plains Food Bank on February 18. As regional service manager, she builds and oversees relationships with Great Plains Food Bank partner feeding agencies in the eastern half of North Dakota including scheduling and logistics for the organization’s Mobile Food Pantry and Pop-up Perishable Food Program distributions.

Johnson previously served as retail foodservice manager at Bemidji State University and foodservice supervisor at Sanford Health in Bemidji. She received a degree in dietetics from North Dakota State University, which includes a dietetics internship with Concordia University.

Flory began his employment with the Great Plains Food Bank January 9. As food resource manager, Flory works with manufacturing, distributing and produce donors to expand food resources available to the Great Plains Food Bank and its partner agencies. Each day he works closely with the Great Plains Food Bank Food Rescue Program to rescue food from retail partners throughout the state that otherwise would go to waste.

Previously Flory worked with food insecure clients as manager of the Dorothy Day Food Pantry in Moorhead, Minn., which is a partner agency of the Great Plains Food Bank. He also served in development for Great Lakes Recovery Centers, which is a behavioral health provider in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in public administration from Central Michigan University.
